Background PT Pupuk Indonesia Energi (PI Energi)

PT Pupuk Indonesia Energi or PI Energi was established on August 18, 2014 as a Company that intended as energy producer company for all Subsidiaries under the business group of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) which engaged in the field of fertilizer production and agrochemical industry.

The establishment of the Company was created as a step to improve the competitiveness of SOE in Fertilizer industry and sought efficiency of fertilizer production cost by SOE in Fertilizer industry through the use of environmentally friendly, technology and fuel and energy saving.

To anticipate the declining National Natural Gas Production and the trend of gas price that continue to rise, as well as to implement the mandate of Presidential Instruction No. 2 of 2010 on the revitalization of the fertilizer industry in order to maintain the business continuity and competitiveness of Fertilizer Company within PIHC Group. PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) together with its Subsidiaries PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, and PT Rekayasa Indsutri established PI Energi to produce and supply energy and utility to Companies within PIHC business group, and to other industry or Company in general.
